BATON ROUGE, LA – Calling it a major step toward affordability, several Louisiana auto insurance companies announced Friday that drivers can now finance the cost of a standard six-month policy over a convenient 72-month payment plan.
Executives said the new option is designed to ease the burden of rising premiums by replacing one large financial headache with dozens of smaller ones.
“We understand paying for six months of insurance can be overwhelming,” one insurance executive explained. “Now customers can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from making payments long after they’ve forgotten which vehicle the policy was for.”
The financing program reportedly features low monthly payments, automatic withdrawals, and the convenience of renewing the policy a full seven times before the original balance is paid off.
Louisiana drivers welcomed the announcement, saying it finally allows them to budget for insurance the same way they budget for mortgages, pickup trucks, and home air conditioner replacements.
Insurance companies said they’re already developing an even more affordable 120-month financing option, while one carrier confirmed it’s exploring a multigenerational payment plan that lets customers leave the remaining balance to their children as part of their estate.
