BATON ROUGE, LA – An LSU fan assured his wife Friday that the new $7,800 tailgate trailer sitting in their driveway was absolutely necessary to properly cook jambalaya before Saturday’s game.
“There really wasn’t another option,” explained lifelong Tiger fan Darren LeBlanc while showing her the trailer’s dual propane burners, 70-inch television, surround-sound system, LED lighting and custom purple-and-gold awning. “You can’t just cook jambalaya anywhere.”
LeBlanc reportedly spent several weeks researching trailers before determining the $7,800 model offered the minimum equipment necessary to combine rice, chicken and sausage in a large pot.
His wife, Jennifer, questioned the purchase after pointing out that LeBlanc already owned two jambalaya pots, three propane burners, a generator, folding tables and a perfectly functional pickup truck.
“Those are completely different things,” LeBlanc explained.
LeBlanc then assured his wife the trailer would save them money over time since they could now bring food to LSU games instead of purchasing concessions.
He declined to explain the additional $2,400 charge from Academy Sports.
