Louisiana Legislature Passes Bipartisan Resolution Declaring Everyone Else The Problem

BATON ROUGE, LA – In a rare display of total agreement, the Louisiana Legislature passed a bipartisan resolution Thursday formally declaring that every major issue facing the state is, without exception, someone else’s fault.

Lawmakers described the measure as a long-overdue step toward consistency, eliminating what they called “confusion” over whether responsibility might occasionally fall within the state capitol.

“For years, we’ve had mixed messaging,” one legislator said. “Sometimes we blamed Washington, sometimes previous administrations, sometimes local leaders. This clears it up. It’s all of them.”

The resolution establishes a standardized system for assigning blame, including a rotating schedule of approved targets such as federal agencies, out-of-state influences, and “unnamed decision-makers from the past.” In urgent situations, lawmakers may invoke an emergency clause allowing immediate redirection of fault to whoever is least able to respond.

Supporters say the policy will streamline communication with constituents while preserving valuable time previously spent reviewing facts.

The measure passed unanimously after a brief amendment clarified that the resolution itself could not, under any circumstances, become the problem.
