NUUK, GREENLAND – Greenland diplomats reportedly admitted this week they are still deeply confused by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry repeatedly referencing former LSU football coach Ed Orgeron during what were supposed to be sensitive Arctic trade and sovereignty discussions.
According to newly released meeting transcripts, Landry mentioned “Coach O being back home where he belongs” at least 17 times while attempting to discuss Greenland’s future relationship with the United States.
“We asked about American military intentions in the Arctic,” said one Greenland official. “He responded by screaming ‘GEAUX TIGAHS’ and explaining the 2019 LSU-Alabama game in alarming detail.”
Sources say confusion escalated after Landry reportedly attempted to compare Coach O’s return to LSU with America’s interest in Greenland, describing both as “great reunifications that just feel right.”
The meeting allegedly became even more awkward when Landry began showing officials YouTube clips of Joe Burrow highlights while insisting they were “important cultural context.”
Several Greenland diplomats admitted they initially assumed Coach O was either a cabinet-level official or “possibly Louisiana’s king.”
The situation reportedly deteriorated further when Landry spent nearly twenty uninterrupted minutes attempting to explain what exactly a “Cajun accent” is before loudly declaring that Coach O “sounds perfectly normal back home.”
