BATON ROUGE, LA – Dense fog accomplished something Tuesday morning that SEC opponents have spent years attempting: shutting down both LSU basketball programs simultaneously.
The weather system grounded the Tigers’ flight to Birmingham, preventing coaches Kim Mulkey and Will Wade from attending SEC Basketball Media Days in person.
Conference officials credited the fog with an aggressive defensive strategy that completely eliminated LSU’s ability to advance beyond Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.
“It never gave us a clear look,” one LSU official explained. “Every time we thought we had an opening, the visibility disappeared.”
The fog reportedly held both programs scoreless for more than two hours without committing a single personal foul.
SEC analysts praised its discipline, noting that it successfully contained Mulkey, Wade, and several scholarship athletes despite having no coaching staff, defensive coordinator, or measurable vertical leap.
Both teams eventually participated remotely, allowing LSU to salvage its media appearances.
Conference officials have reportedly begun reviewing whether the fog has any remaining eligibility before offering it a scholarship.
