BATON ROUGE, LA – Area resident and self-appointed crawfish authority Chad Boudreaux reportedly attended a neighborhood crawfish boil Saturday with no intention of eating, socializing, or contributing, arriving solely to critique the boiling technique of whoever happened to be in charge that day.
Witnesses say Boudreaux spent nearly four hours circling the boil setup with his arms crossed, periodically shaking his head and muttering things like, “That’s not how we did it in Pierre Part,” despite being from Denham Springs.
According to attendees, he immediately questioned the seasoning brand, water temperature, soak time, propane pressure, potato-to-crawfish ratio, and the decision to add mushrooms.
“He showed up empty-handed and somehow became the loudest person here,” said one frustrated guest. “At one point he tasted a crawfish and gave us a seven-minute presentation on why the spice level peaked too early.”
Sources say Boudreaux repeatedly reminded everyone that his own boils are “legendary,” though no one present could recall ever being invited to one.
The gathering finally ended when Boudreaux announced he was leaving because the second batch looked “a little rushed,” then filled three to-go containers before walking out.
