BATON ROUGE, La. – Facing mounting pressure over skyrocketing insurance premiums, Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple delivered a simple yet innovative solution to struggling homeowners: “Stop being poor.”

Speaking at a press conference held inside a five-star hotel ballroom, Temple reassured residents that affordable insurance isn’t a myth—it’s just reserved for people who deserve it.
‘“We’re seeing a trend here,” Temple explained. “The people complaining about high rates are the same ones who aren’t multimillionaires. That’s not an insurance problem—that’s a ‘you being a broke ass bitch’ problem.”’
Officials suggested that homeowners take responsibility by making “better financial choices,” such as inheriting wealth, purchasing a second home in a non-hurricane zone, or getting into politics.
Temple later announced a new pilot program where struggling homeowners can apply for a financial literacy course taught by the same officials who ran Louisiana’s budget into the ground for the introductory price of $399.95 payable only in cash.
