BATON ROUGE, LA – Local developers unveiled plans this week for an exciting new mixed-use development that will bring several innovative retail concepts to the area, including a nail salon, a vape store, and a second nail salon located approximately 75 feet from the first one.
According to promotional materials, the development will offer residents a unique opportunity to visit businesses nearly identical to those found in every other newly constructed retail center in most of Baton Rouge.
“This project represents the future of economic development,” said one developer while standing in front of a rendering featuring beige buildings, decorative brick accents, and at least four empty parking spaces. “Residents have been asking for more options, and we’re proud to provide them.”
The project will reportedly occupy a vacant tract of land that residents had been speculating about for years. Many had hoped for a destination attraction, entertainment venue, or specialty retailer before learning it would instead feature services already available within walking distance.
Leasing materials describe the center as a “vibrant community hub” despite the entire tenant lineup being visible from the parking lot of three nearly identical shopping centers nearby.
A spokesman for the development said that in the event one of the nail salons backs out before the building is coplete, he’s already had a verbal commitment from another vape shop to open there.
