BATON ROUGE, LA – A new study has confirmed that Coffee Call may be serving more powdered sugar than any other establishment in Louisiana, with traces now reportedly being detected on former Baton Rouge residents living as far away as Dallas, Texas.
Researchers say the findings highlight what locals have appreciated for decades: when you order beignets at Coffee Call, nobody leaves wondering whether enough powdered sugar was applied.
The study found measurable traces of powdered sugar on shirts, vehicle seats, suitcases, and household furniture belonging to former Baton Rouge residents who haven’t visited Louisiana in years.
“We expected to find a little,” said one researcher. “What we discovered was enough powdered sugar to positively identify a former Coffee Call customer from several states away.”
According to the report, the powder appears capable of surviving multiple washes, interstate moves, and in some cases complete wardrobe replacements.
One Dallas resident was stunned by the results.
“I moved here eight years ago,” he said. “I’ve bought a new truck, a new house, and an entirely new closet. Apparently some of that powdered sugar made the trip with me.”
Researchers concluded that while complete removal may be impossible, most Baton Rouge residents wouldn’t want it any other way.
