BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana officials have unveiled an ambitious new property tax relief proposal that would allow homeowners to eliminate their property taxes entirely by simply no longer owning property.
The groundbreaking initiative, described as the most comprehensive tax reduction plan in state history, guarantees a 100% reduction in property taxes for anyone willing to surrender their home.
“This is real relief,” explained one state official. “If you don’t own property, you don’t pay property taxes. The math is undeniable.”
Under the proposal, homeowners would receive informational brochures explaining how selling their homes could dramatically reduce their annual tax burden.
Officials are also considering a companion program allowing residents to eliminate vehicle registration fees by selling their cars and reduce grocery expenses by no longer purchasing food.
Critics questioned whether the proposal actually helps Louisiana families, but supporters insisted the program delivers exactly what it promises.
Lawmakers are reportedly considering expanding the initiative to income taxes by encouraging residents to stop earning money altogether.
