LSU Fans Ask Landry to Move Clocks Back Five Hours So Alabama Kick Off Happens After Dark

Louisiana has spent decades moving backward. LSU fans figure another five hours shouldn't be a problem.

BATON ROUGE, LA – LSU fans are urging Governor Jeff Landry to move Louisiana’s clocks back five hours before next Saturday’s game against Alabama, allowing ESPN’s scheduled 2:30 p.m. kickoff to take place under the lights.

The proposal would establish “Death Valley Standard Time,” effective until the final whistle or an SEC ruling, whichever comes first.

Supporters argue the measure is easier than convincing ESPN to reschedule and cheaper than building a roof over Tiger Stadium.

Under the plan, restaurants would serve lunch at dinner, Saturday weddings would start late, and tailgaters would fire up the grill around 3:00 a.m.

Landry asked whether governors have authority to move time backward. Petition organizers replied that Louisiana has been doing that with things like infrastructure and education for decades.

Alabama officials expressed concern their team might arrive five hours early.

LSU fans welcomed the possibility, saying it would be the first scheduling decision to benefit the Tigers all season.
