BATON ROUGE, LA – Local officials say they’re preparing for “as many as an entire dozen” demonstrators to gather in downtown Baton Rouge this Sunday for the “No Pharaohs” protest, a rally aimed at denouncing America’s ongoing struggle with nonexistent royal bloodlines. The gathering comes just one day after another protest, dubbed “No Kings,” was held against the current President of the United States, who was elected in 2024.
Organizers say the event will “raise awareness” about the “creeping return of pyramid-style leadership” and “the normalization of divine rule.” Flyers are being distributed urging Americans to ‘reject oppression, sacred cats, and governance conducted in hieroglyphs.’
One participant told a Sadvocate reporter the movement began after learning that some politicians “own gold things and cats” and “speak confidently,” which they described as “clear Pharaoh behavior.”
The city has arranged minimal traffic control for the event, noting that turnout is expected to be roughly equivalent to “a day at the DMV.”
Protesters plan to reconvene next weekend for a follow-up demonstration titled “No Emperors,” which will reportedly target the nation’s ongoing lack of an empire.
