BATON ROUGE, LA – After a Baton Rouge teen was arrested for murder this week while already out on bond for attempted murder back in December, officials with the 19th Judicial District Court announced the My19th Rewards™ Program, which is a loyalty points system for repeat violent offenders.
“Honestly, at this point, we figured we should just lean in,” said one court spokesperson. “Some of these guys are back so often, they deserve some sort of perks for their loyalty.”
Under the program, defendants earn bond points every time a judge grants a pretrial release. These can later be redeemed for discounts on future bonds, waived booking fees, or even limited-time offers like “Get Charged With 3 Felonies, Get Your Next Misdemeanor Free.”
The announcement comes in the wake of the WAFB report highlighting the growing number of violent offenders cycling through the system without interruption. Court officials insist the timing is “purely coincidental.”
Bond Points Breakdown (Violent Offense Tier):
- Aggravated Assault – 75 points
+25 bonus points if incident involved a gas station or defendant is related to the judge - Attempted Murder – 150 points
Double points if committed while already out on bond - Second-Degree Murder – 300 points
Instant upgrade to Gold Status: includes free ankle monitor and waived fingerprinting fee
Planned features of the My19th Rewards app include an automatic bond calculator and push alerts when you’ve unlocked “Warrant Forgiveness Weekend.”
My19th Premium™ members can unlock extra perks like automatic bond pre-approval, one annual warrant forgiveness, and invitation-only access to the 19th JDC holiday crawfish boil (must be a convicted felon to attend.) It’s the justice system’s way of saying, “Thanks for always coming back.”
