BATON ROUGE, LA – Churches across Louisiana announced special Sunday services for LSU fans who endured all four quarters of Saturday night’s 32-24 loss to Ole Miss.
The additional services will reportedly include prayer, quiet reflection and a brief period for fans to confess things they yelled at the television that do not represent who they are as people.
“We’re expecting a larger crowd than usual,” said one pastor. “Some of these people saw things last night they’re going to carry with them for a while.”
Church officials said ushers have been instructed not to judge anyone arriving in the same LSU shirt they wore Saturday, while counselors will be available for fans who repeatedly mutter “we had them” during the service.
A special collection will also be taken to help families who spent thousands traveling to Oxford only to drive home in complete silence.
Despite the loss, clergy reminded everyone that forgiveness is an important part of faith.
