NEW ORLEANS, LA – Political strategist and Louisiana native James Carville reportedly spent several frustrating hours this week being forced to pay attention to Louisiana’s statewide election, temporarily interrupting what aides described as his full-time schedule of complaining about President Donald Trump.
According to sources, Carville initially attempted to ignore the election altogether before reluctantly acknowledging it existed after realizing television networks had temporarily shifted their coverage away from national politics.
“This is exactly how they get you,” Carville reportedly muttered while watching local election returns. “One minute you’re warning America about Trump, and the next you’re expected to have opinions about actual Louisiana candidates.”
Witnesses say Carville repeatedly attempted to steer every conversation back toward Trump, somehow connecting him to voter turnout, campaign signs, polling locations, and even the humidity.
Friends became concerned after Carville was overheard asking whether there was “any conceivable way” to blame the election results on Trump before remembering he didn’t actually need evidence to make the connection.
By late evening, Carville appeared visibly relieved after national cable news resumed wall-to-wall Trump coverage, allowing him to return to what is described as “his natural habitat” without further interruption from Louisiana politics.
