BATON ROUGE, LA – Local millennial Tyler Broussard finally solved a lifelong family mystery Sunday after learning the Raising Cane’s River Center was once called the Centroplex.
“Every time my parents said they saw wrestling, Disney on Ice, or a concert at the Centroplex, I assumed it was some demolished arena near Bon Marche Mall,” Broussard said. “Turns out they meant the giant building downtown that I have personally entered twelve times.”
The revelation reportedly clarified hundreds of confusing conversations, including his mother’s claim that she met his father “outside the Centroplex” and his uncle’s repeated warning that parking there “hasn’t been right since 1987.”
Broussard confronted his parents, demanding to know why they kept using a name abandoned decades ago. They responded by asking why he still calls the Raising Cane’s River Center the River Center.
The breakthrough lasted only minutes before Broussard’s mother said she bought the concert tickets at Goudchaux’s, forcing him to reopen the investigation.
