Walker High Principal Amends School Dress Code: Mouthguards and Headgear Required

Walker, LA – In a move that has parents scratching their heads and orthodontists cheering, the principal announced sweeping changes to the school’s dress code this week. Starting Monday, all students will be required to wear protective headgear and mouthguards during the school day, whether in the classroom, cafeteria, or marching band practice.

The policy follows a recent cafeteria altercation that left one student with a broken nose and another with a five-day suspension. Rather than addressing concerns about student discipline, the principal said the new dress code “reflects the reality of our environment” and will help keep students “safe, stylish, and ready for action.”

The assistant principal, who came under fire for downplaying the incident, praised the initiative, calling it “a proactive step toward reducing parental complaints and increasing school spirit.”
