Louisiana DMV Head Resigns Baton Rouge The Sadvocate

Wildlife & Fisheries and OMV Partnership Saves Time by Combining Two Broken Systems Into One

BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana residents are celebrating what officials call a “major leap forward in efficiency,” as the Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and the Office of Motor Vehicles announced a new partnership to handle boat and trailer registrations. The goal: save citizens time by merging two notoriously slow, confusing processes into one beautifully dysfunctional package.

“This is innovation at its finest,” said one spokesperson, as the OMV computers froze and the Wildlife & Fisheries printer jammed. “Why make people waste time in two lines, when they can waste the exact same amount of time in just one?”

Boat owners will now be able to renew licenses, register trailers, and lose their sanity all under the same roof. Officials claim this consolidation could cut wait times from “an entire fishing season” down to a “long weekend.”

One proud fisherman summed it up best: “I showed up at 6 a.m., and by sunset I only had four forms left unsigned. That’s progress, baby.”
