BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana officials confirmed this week that the man now accused of raping a 4-year-old girl had only been out of prison for a few weeks, his latest in a long series of check-ins and check-outs with the justice system.
Records show the 29-year-old suspect has been arrested repeatedly over the years, including convictions for burglary, drug charges, and parole violations. Each time, he’s shuffled through the revolving door of Parish Prison like a seasoned hotel guest, release, re-arrest, repeat. His most recent release in July came after serving just a fraction of his sentence, a move officials defended as “standard Louisiana procedure.”
Department of Corrections insiders say he’s now the proud holder of “Platinum Status” in the Early Release Club, entitling him to expedited parole hearings, a pre-assigned bunk for future visits, and a complimentary “Welcome Back” handshake from deputies.
Frustrated residents aren’t impressed. “He’s been arrested so many times, his rap sheet has its own ZIP code,” one Baton Rouge neighbor said. “Honestly, at this point, Parish Prison should just give him a mailbox.”
