OXFORD, MS – Ole Miss announced Wednesday that the process server who successfully approached LSU linebacker Princewill Umanmielen has earned the starting running back position against the Tigers.
Coaches reportedly made the decision after reviewing footage of the server walking directly toward Umanmielen, handing him court papers and completing the encounter without being tackled for a loss.
“That’s the kind of fearless downhill running we’ve been looking for,” said an Ole Miss assistant. “He identified his target, closed the distance and maintained possession of the documents through contact.”
The process server spent Wednesday learning the Rebels’ playbook, although coaches said his experience locating people who do not want to be found should translate naturally to finding holes in LSU’s defense.
Ole Miss expects to use him primarily between the tackles, with several designed routes toward Umanmielen.
His contract reportedly includes a $550,000 performance bonus if he reaches the end zone, or successfully delivers another motion before kickoff.
