NEW ORLEANS, LA – After every judge in Orleans Parish recused themselves from hearing the Attorney General case, city officials announced Wednesday that the search would now continue in prime time with the debut of a new reality competition, So You Think You Can Judge?
According to producers, contestants from across Louisiana will compete in a series of courtroom-themed challenges designed to identify the one person willing to keep the assignment for longer than five minutes. Weekly competitions will include maintaining a straight face during heated press conferences, locating the mute button before attorneys begin talking over one another, and successfully reading an entire motion without quietly sliding a recusal form across the bench.
Each episode will conclude with judges awarding a coveted Golden Gavel to the contestant advancing to the next round, while those eliminated will simply announce they have discovered a conflict requiring their immediate recusal.
Producers remain optimistic the season finale will finally produce someone willing to hear the case, though some admit there’s a strong possibility the winner will file a recusal after realizing they’re trying to throw the Attorney General in jail, forcing the network to immediately begin casting Season Two.
