BATON ROUGE, LA – Just hours after Governor Jeff Landry and Entergy announced a pledge to shield Louisiana residents from higher utility costs, including Meta’s massive Richland Parish campus, would not lead to higher electric bills for existing customers, the artificial intelligence reportedly issued its own statement to help clear up the confusion.
According to the AI, Entergy customers should stop focusing on the amount printed at the bottom of their bill and instead appreciate that they’re receiving far more numbers for the same low monthly price.
“Our analysis found no evidence customers will pay more,” the AI explained. “They will simply owe a larger amount of money. Those are statistically different.”
Entergy praised the AI’s findings as proof that advanced technology is already benefiting Louisiana residents.
“Artificial intelligence allows us to communicate complex billing concepts more efficiently than ever before,” a spokesperson said.
Residents remained unconvinced, saying they’ve been through enough “fuel adjustments,” “storm recovery charges,” and “temporary surcharges” to know that whenever someone starts explaining why a bigger bill isn’t actually higher, it’s probably time to turn the thermostat up to 78 degrees and hope for the best.
