BATON ROUGE, LA – With LSU football training well underway and the first grainy practice videos beginning to circulate online, Tiger fans across Louisiana have once again launched the annual tradition of convincing themselves that the current roster is the most talented team ever assembled in the history of organized sports.
The yearly ritual reportedly began minutes after the first practice photos were released, with fans immediately pointing to the size of the offensive line, the speed of incoming freshmen, and the fact that several players appeared noticeably larger than they did in last year’s media guide photos.
“This team just feels different,” said one local fan, echoing a phrase that has been repeated every August since approximately 1986. “I’ve watched three highlight clips, read two message board posts, and saw a linebacker squat a lot of weight. I honestly don’t see how we lose a game.”
Sources confirm many fans have already begun comparing the roster to LSU’s 2019 national championship team despite the fact that the Tigers have yet to play a single snap.
Analysts predict LSU’s unofficial preseason ranking among its own fan base will climb from No. 1 to No. 1 by an even wider margin over the next several weeks.
