BATON ROUGE, LA – A shipment of orange soda turned a major Baton Rouge intersection into a sugary slip-and-slide Tuesday morning, causing traffic delays, confused pedestrians, and at least one reported Kel-level panic attack.
Authorities say the spill occurred when a delivery truck took a sharp turn too fast, sending dozens of crates of orange soda tumbling across the roadway. The scene quickly turned chaotic as vehicles skidded, bees arrived en masse, and one driver rolled down his window and shouted, “Kel would’ve died here!”
Emergency crews responded swiftly, but cleanup was delayed after multiple city workers stopped to quote Kenan & Kel, reenacting scenes while slipping on the syrupy mess.
Witnesses say a small crowd gathered to film the incident for TikTok, with one captioning it “RIP Kel. Baton Rouge ain’t safe for soda lovers.”
No injuries were reported, but local authorities have issued a stern warning: “If you see an orange glow on the road, turn around. It’s not worth reliving a 90s sitcom trauma.”
DOTD says repairs will begin as soon as the ants leave.
