In a unprecedented move to cut $20 million from the state budget, Governor Jeff Landry announced today that all future state employee hires will be replaced with Google searches.

“Why hire someone when you can just type in the question?” said Landry, standing in front of a projector displaying “How to run an entire state?”
Under the new initiative, state workers will be instructed to “just Google it” when faced with complex issues like infrastructure failures, disaster response, or understanding Excel.
Landry says the move is already paying off. “We asked Google how to balance the budget, and it said to stop hiring people. That’s leadership.”
Agencies are being issued Chromebooks duct-taped to office chairs to simulate coworkers, and a “Ctrl+F” hotline will replace HR.
Critics warn the plan could lead to chaos, but Landry insists, “If Google doesn’t know the answer, then maybe the question doesn’t matter.”
