BATON ROUGE, La. – After yet another weather delay pushed LSU’s Saturday night game against Mississippi State to a 9:30 p.m. start, LSU Baseball has decided they’ve had enough—so they’re calling in the true experts in delays: the East Baton Rouge Department of Public Works.

“We figured, if anyone knows how to drag something out indefinitely, it’s DPW,” said one LSU official.
Starting this week, all game postponements, weather delays, and questionable umpire reviews will be coordinated by DPW crews. Fans can expect frequent updates, confusing signage, and a small crew of guys leaning on shovels near the dugout.
Sources say the new delay protocol will include orange cones around home plate and a 3-month estimated wait time for lightning to clear the area.
Public Works says they’ll clear the field of water just as soon as they finish that sidewalk project they started on Plank Road in 2009.
