BATON ROUGE, La. – A local entrepreneur’s “used car lot” was shut down recently after authorities discovered Grand Theft Auto Sales & Service was less of a dealership and more of a crime spree.
Police say the suspect ran a booming business selling stolen cars at unbeatable prices. Customers loved his “no paperwork, no payments, no problem” policy—until the real owners showed up.
“I thought the name was just for laughs,” said one buyer. “Didn’t realize it was a confession.”
Investigators cracked the case after noticing cars disappearing from driveways and reappearing on Facebook Marketplace hours later.
Despite the charges, the suspect insists he’s innocent, arguing he was simply ‘speeding up the car ownership process’ and ‘cutting out the middleman—like the DMV.’
