ST. GEORGE, La. – After briefly dropping out, St. George mayoral candidate Jim Morgan—the first in the city’s history to run with a solicitation conviction—has reversed course, now insisting he’s not pulling out early.
Upon hearing the news, several vendors who provide services to the city threw their support behind Morgan, citing his proven track record of always paying for services rendered, in full and up front. “It’s refreshing to see a politician who doesn’t just expect things for free,” said one contractor.
Morgan has proposed updating all city contracts to an hourly pay model, explaining it’s the structure he’s most familiar with, even if some of those deals are made behind the curtain.
A Sadvocate staff member reached out to Ivana Twerkalot, the woman Morgan solicited, for comment. She laughed and said, “Yeah, I heard Jim entered the race—what really surprised me was that he actually stayed in for more than 45 seconds.”
With Election Day nearing, voters must decide whether Morgan’s persistence reflects true dedication or an unwavering willingness to endure hooker jokes and memes from The Sadvocate for the next four years. Either way, Morgan says he’s hoping for another happy ending.
