Falcons Fined for Making Themselves at Home in Saints End Zone Without Short-Term Rental Permit

Atlanta’s repeated trips to the Saints end zone attracted the attention of New Orleans rental inspectors.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – City officials fined the Atlanta Falcons Tuesday after determining the team had established an unauthorized short-term rental in the Saints end zone during Monday night’s game.

“They were coming and going freely, hosting large gatherings, and clearly treating the property as their own,” said a city inspector. “At some point, that stops being a visit.”

Investigators said Atlanta scored 45 points without displaying a permit, identifying a property manager, or demonstrating that anyone from New Orleans was supervising the premises.

The Saints maintained that no rental agreement existed, explaining they had simply left the area unattended and assumed someone would eventually check on it.

Neighbors reported repeated noise complaints, although officials acknowledged most of the screaming came from the surrounding properties.

Atlanta has appealed the fine, arguing the end zone appeared abandoned when they arrived.

The city has also cited the Saints for advertising the Superdome as a competitive football venue without providing the amenities described in the listing
