NEW ORLEANS, LA – Following Sunday’s fourth-quarter collapse against the Las Vegas Raiders, the New Orleans Saints announced a new partnership with Goodwill that will allow the organization to classify future turnovers as charitable donations.
The agreement comes after the Saints generously donated four footballs to the Raiders in the fourth quarter, helping Las Vegas overcome an 11-point deficit and secure a 35-27 victory.
“We’ve always believed in giving back to the community,” said a Saints spokesperson. “We just never realized how much we could give back to opposing defenses.”
Under the new partnership, Saints players will receive an itemized donation receipt following each turnover, allowing the organization to claim the fair market value of each football as a charitable contribution.
Goodwill officials confirmed they are already working with the team to establish a permanent donation center along the Saints sideline.
The IRS has reportedly requested additional documentation after the Saints attempted to write off the entire fourth quarter as a total loss.
