BATON ROUGE, LA – With LSU’s season opener against Clemson just one week away, Tiger fans have officially begun preseason drills designed to get their play calling complaints into midseason form.
Fans across Louisiana spent Friday practicing several fundamentals, including yelling “THROW THE DAMN BALL,” questioning option plays on 3rd & long and demanding the offensive coordinator be fired immediately following any play gaining fewer than six yards.
“You can’t just show up next Saturday and expect to complain at an SEC level,” explained longtime LSU fan Ricky Gautreaux. “You’ve got to get your reps in.”
More advanced drills reportedly focused on criticizing Lane Kiffin for running the ball twice in a row before immediately criticizing him for abandoning the run.
Fans also practiced identifying obvious mistakes only after seeing whether the play worked.
LSU officials reminded supporters that Kiffin has yet to call an actual play as LSU’s head coach, but acknowledged expectations are already high.
Coaches encouraged fans to remain patient once the season begins. That suggestion was immediately booed.
