WATSON, LA – In what company officials are calling “a victory for portion control and self-deception,” Oak Point Fresh Market announced Tuesday the release of a new smaller Chantilly cake designed specifically for customers who want to convince themselves eating an entire cake is somehow healthier.
“We listened to our customers,” said a store representative. “They told us they weren’t looking to eat less cake, they just wanted to experience less guilt while doing it.”
The new cake is reportedly marketed as “perfectly sized for one responsible adult,” though Oak Point admitted most customers were already treating the larger version that way.
Shoppers immediately praised the decision, saying the smaller cake eliminates the awkward process of pretending to save half for later before quietly finishing it in the kitchen around 10 p.m.
Employees say they fully expect customers to purchase two of the smaller cakes instead, insisting it’s still a better decision because they’re technically “individual servings.”
The bakery confirmed the new cake will contain exactly the same amount of happiness, just packaged in a size that makes questionable decisions feel slightly more reasonable.
