BATON ROUGE, LA – State officials confirmed Thursday that a local recall organizer has officially filed a recall petition against a receptionist at the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office after the employee allegedly greeted her with the phrase, “You again,” during her third visit for a recall petition in recent weeks.
The filing comes after she previously launched failed or struggling recall efforts against Baton Rouge Mayor Sid Edwards, Governor Jeff Landry, and now Attorney General Liz Murrill, despite reportedly gathering fewer signatures than a middle school student council campaign.
Sources inside the Secretary of State’s Office say employees initially believed the lady worked there due to the frequency of her visits and her carrying a folder labeled “ACCOUNTABILITY UP IN THIS BITCH”
“She’s basically become part of the morning shift,” one employee said. “Someone almost gave her a state email address.”
Officials say tensions escalated after the receptionist jokingly asked whether the lady wanted her “usual paperwork packet” and asked for her frequent recall organizer punch card which entitles her to a free recall after the 5th one.
The lady called the remark “a direct attack on democracy” before immediately beginning paperwork for another recall effort in the lobby for state employee who failed to hold the door for her when she walked inside.
