BATON ROUGE, LA – A high-speed motorcycle chase came to an abrupt end Saturday afternoon on Siegen Lane when the fleeing suspect collided directly with an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputy. While officials quickly moved in to secure the scene, nearby encampments wasted no time branding the incident as a major neighborhood upgrade.
“Most folks in apartments pay extra for amenities like gyms or pools,” said one resident from a makeshift tent. “Out here on Siegen, we get front-row seats to police chases. That’s premium entertainment, and it’s free.”
Witnesses report that traffic backed up for miles, though commuters agreed this was only slightly worse than a normal day on Siegen. Some drivers even admitted the spectacle was more entertaining than their usual view of brake lights, potholes, and piles of syringes.
City officials added that between the crash, the Chick-fil-A congestion, and the homeless encampments, Siegen now offers visitors the full Baton Rouge experience in just one stoplight.
