Black Bear Seen in Livingston Parish Identified as Boyfriend of Denham Springs Woman

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA – A Livingston Parish woman has come forward claiming she’s in a committed relationship with the now-infamous black bear that’s been spotted roaming the area.

“He came up behind the house near the burn barrel one night when my now ex-boyfriend was working a turnaround. I tossed him a honey bun and he stayed the night,” said 42-year-old Krystle Meth Guidry. “It’s been three weeks and honestly, it’s the healthiest relationship I’ve ever had.”

According to Guidry, the bear, whom she lovingly calls “Trevor Lee”, hasn’t once ghosted her, stolen her debit card, or slept with any of her cousins or sisters.

Despite warnings from wildlife officials, Guidry insists she and Trevor have a “deep connection,” citing the way he growls softly when she plays anything by Jason Aldean.

LDWF issued a statement reminding the public that black bears are wild animals, regardless of “how they spoon on cold nights.” Guidry says if the state tries to take him, she’s prepared to fight. “They can have my man when they pry him from my cold, scratched-up arms.”
