DENHAM SPRINGS, LA – The Denham Springs Police Department executed a raid at Mustard Seed Creamery this week, seizing at least 12 cases of Rum Raisin ice cream warning that the creamery’s actions represented ”a dangerous precedent of ignoring council mandates.”
Authorities claimed the boozy flavor posed a direct threat to public morals, framing the pint as less of a flavor and more of ”a manifesto against city hall.” Officers carried the seized cases out in evidence bags, assuring the public the ice cream would be ”kept under strict supervision until further notice.”
A city spokesperson defended the operation: “Rum Raisin may look innocent, but so did Al Capone’s first glass of grape juice.”
Meanwhile, the city council is reportedly following up on rumors that the shop might also be selling root beer out the back door. Critics say the crackdown is pure theater, noting that the only thing intoxicating about the creamery is the sugar rush.
Still, officials declared victory and vowed to investigate other suspicious flavors next, starting with Fudge Ripple.
