NEW ORLEANS, La. – In a stunning display of self-awareness, Saints quarterback Derek Carr has agreed to restructure his contract after sitting through a full film session of the team’s 2024 season.
Sources say Carr was visibly shaken while watching himself check down on third-and-long, overthrow wide-open receivers, and lead the league in ‘almost’ touchdown passes. By the second quarter of the film session, he reportedly turned to Saints management and said, “I can’t, in good conscience, keep all this money.”
With the freed-up money, the Saints are expected to target impact players at wide receiver and offensive line—though fans argue the biggest investment should be in a GPS system to help Carr locate open targets downfield.
The Saints have yet to confirm if other players will take similar pay cuts. Experts say the defense is considering it, but only if they get bonuses for carrying the offense again.
