BATON ROUGE, La. – In a move that has surprised absolutely no one, LSU has announced a new degree program: Political Corruption Studies, aimed at grooming the next generation of Louisiana’s “most successful” public officials.
“We’re embracing our state’s rich tradition of ‘creative governance’,” said Dr. Vincent “Kickback” Boudreaux, the newly appointed department chair. “Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the ‘necessary skills’ to navigate Louisiana’s unique political landscape.”
Course offerings include The Edwin Edwards Masterclass in Election Manipulation, The David Duke ‘Fundraising for Personal Enrichment’ Seminar, and The William Jefferson ‘Cold Cash’ Money Laundering Techniques, inspired by the former congressman’s infamous $90,000 stash found in his freezer. A senior capstone project requires students to secure a no-bid contract without attracting federal attention.
In a nod to the state’s storied history of political scandal, former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been appointed as an honorary professor. Nagin, who served a decade in federal prison for bribery and fraud related to city contracts, will provide “real-world insights” into the art of transforming public service into personal profit.
Graduates will receive a special LSU-branded briefcase, complete with a pre-loaded list of Louisiana’s top white-collar defense attorneys, ensuring a seamless transition from politics to prosecution.
