CENTRAL, LA – Members of a Central congregation were informed this week that their pastor’s scheduled seminar on conflict resolution has been postponed indefinitely due to what church leaders described as an “unexpected scheduling conflict involving several law enforcement agents and temporary confinement at a local government run facility.”
According to sources familiar with the situation, church staff spent much of the week reviewing upcoming sermon topics and determining whether messages on patience, forgiveness, conflict resolution, or loving thy neighbor should also be temporarily removed from circulation.
Congregation members expressed disappointment over the cancellation, noting that the seminar had been heavily promoted throughout the month and was expected to include practical examples of how Christians should respond when confronted with difficult situations, criticism, or inconvenient video evidence.
Officials reportedly considered replacing the seminar with one focused on turning the other cheek, but determined the topic might create unnecessary confusion given recent events.
Church elders have reportedly replaced the sanctuary’s “Love Thy Neighbor” banner with a more legally cautious message reminding members to consult counsel before taking any action.
