BATON ROUGE, LA – Sen. Bill Cassidy’s re-election campaign entered full damage-control mode Sunday evening after staff confirmed that the senator’s now-infamous gumbo containing collard greens was not an isolated incident.

According to campaign sources, the situation escalated late Sunday night when a senior aide discovered handwritten notes in Cassidy’s kitchen describing what he reportedly called a “healthy Louisiana twist” on crawfish etouffee, featuring sauteed kale.

Political analysts say the gumbo post had already rattled supporters, but the kale revelation pushed the campaign into uncharted territory.
Several Louisiana voters interviewed Monday said they were willing to debate policy differences, but experimenting with sacred recipes during an election year showed what one voter called “a concerning lapse in judgment.”
Sources say the campaign has hired Louisiana grandmother Miss Delphine Boudreaux to review all future recipes before they reach social media
