BATON ROUGE, LA – The LSU Interfraternity Council announced Monday morning that it has officially expanded its hazing policies to include “forcing pledges to watch the 2025 LSU–Texas A&M game replay,” describing the practice as “a clear act of cruel and unusual punishment.”
The ruling follows multiple reports of fraternity members subjecting new pledges to full game screenings, with some required to sit through slow-motion replays of missed tackles while upperclassmen yelled “learn from it” at the television.
“We’ve banned forcing pledges to sit through a full Governor Landry press conference, hooking up with Phi Mu pledges, and getting gas on Highland Road north of campus alone at night. This just felt like the next logical step,” said IFC President Blake Thibodeaux. “No one should be forced to relive that second half voluntarily or involuntarily.”
LSU’s Student Health Center has already launched a new counseling group for those exposed to the replay, with therapy dogs reportedly trained to bark whenever the A&M quarterback drops back to pass.
As one fraternity president put it, “We’re fine with push-ups, ice buckets, even a little hoggin’ at Tigerland, but making them watch that 2025 A&M beatdown is crossing the line.”
