BATON ROUGE, LA – LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly addressed his now-viral postgame press conference blowup, explaining that his rage wasn’t directed at reporters, referees, or even his own offense. Instead, Kelly admitted he was already bracing for the inevitable flood of Sadvocate memes mocking LSU’s less than impressive performance against Florida.
“I could hear the captions before they were written,” Kelly said, visibly exhausted. “Stuff like ‘LSU Offense Still Stuck in Traffic on I-10’ or ‘Brian Kelly Goes Undefeated in Yelling at Reporters.’ That’s what pushed me over the edge.”
Kelly described the moment as “pre-trauma,” where every dropped pass triggered visions of his face Photoshopped onto crying toddlers or that distracted boyfriend meme. “I wasn’t mad at the game,” he insisted. “I was mad at what I knew was coming.”
Adding to the irony, Kelly noted that Florida fans won’t need to brag for weeks because The Sadvocate will be doing the work for them. “It’s tough when the local satire page is running a more effective blitz than Florida’s defense.”
The coach wrapped up by joking that his new defensive scheme isn’t for Alabama or Georgia, it’s for “The Sadvocate’s banger LSU memes, which are undefeated every season.”
