DENHAM SPRINGS, LA – Frustrated residents in Livingston Parish are still waiting for progress on the long-delayed Juban Road project, but utility crews insist the holdup isn’t laziness, it’s the Juban traffic.
According to an article by Unfiltered with Kiran, the relocation of utility lines stalled nearly four years ago after a crew truck became trapped in traffic somewhere south of 190. “We’ve had a green light flash for about three seconds at a time, but by the time we move, the next cycle hits,” said one lineman, sipping coffee through his truck window. “Honestly, we’ve been living here ever since.”
DOTD officials confirmed multiple crews have taken up semi-permanent residence right in the middle of traffic, with at least one Cox technician reportedly raising a family in the median. Meanwhile, traffic detours have only made the problem worse, with utility trucks now circling back into the same gridlock they were supposed to bypass.
In the meantime, utility workers have set up lawn chairs and slow cookers on site, turning the intersection into a permanent tailgate. “We may not have gotten the utilities moved,” one Entergy tech admitted, “but we’ve learned how to cook a perfect chicken and sausage jambalaya in the bed of a truck.” It’s the closest thing to progress Juban has seen in a minute.
