BATON ROUGE, La. – In yet another episode of Louisiana’s greatest political reruns, Governor Jeff Landry has reappointed Bruce Greenstein as Louisiana’s Secretary of Health, a position Greenstein once held until he was removed following an indictment tied to a multimillion-dollar Medicaid contract.

“This time around,” Greenstein assured reporters, “I’m aiming for a solid 0% indictment rate. Personal growth.”
Critics called the reappointment tone-deaf, but Landry defended it by noting, “He’s already been through the legal wringer. That’s called vetting — the hard way.”
Sources close to the administration say Greenstein was chosen over other candidates after passing a simple background check titled, ‘Are You Currently Indicted?’
Supporters praised the move as a “second-chance success story,” while skeptics wondered if Louisiana is now using courtroom records as a talent pool.
In response, Greenstein noted, “It’s Louisiana. If we didn’t rehire folks with a past, we’d be running this place with interns.”
