BATON ROUGE, LA – The same day Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport made headlines for suppressing a video of Gov. Kristi Noem blaming Democrats for the government shutdown, airport officials have now suspended all terminal televisions again, this time over a Pampers commercial featuring a smiling baby waving a tiny American flag.
The Airport Commission said the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution” after a traveler reportedly felt “unexpectedly patriotic.” Officials explained that, while the Noem video was removed to “avoid partisanship,” the Pampers ad was pulled because “infant nationalism is a gateway to ideology.”
A spokesperson for BTR clarified that the airport “fully supports free speech, as long as it’s pre-approved by committee.” The commission has created a “Cultural Compliance Unit” who will be tasked with reviewing all ads for signs of indoctrination, including waving, smiling, or appearing to enjoy freedom.
Until further notice, terminal screens will continue to display only flight delays, which officials assure passengers “carry no political bias whatsoever.” Passengers are also prohibited from wearing red, white, or blue clothing until the investigation concludes.
