Local Steakhouse Thanks St. Tammany Sheriff For Strong Second Quarter Earnings

MADISONVILLE, LA – A popular Northshore steakhouse issued a statement of gratitude this week after reports revealed an 18-drink bar tab associated with St. Tammany Sheriff Randy Smith on the night of an incident that later resulted in his arrest.

Restaurant management declined to comment on the legal matters surrounding the evening but did acknowledge the sheriff’s significant contribution to quarterly revenue.

“We’d like to personally thank Sheriff Smith for his continued support of local business,” the statement read. “Customers like him are the backbone of the hospitality industry.”

Financial analysts reviewing the receipt estimated the transaction may have moved several key performance indicators in a positive direction.

Employees reportedly became concerned midway through the evening when the sheriff appeared to be approaching the spending level normally associated with corporate Christmas parties.

Sources inside the restaurant say managers briefly discussed naming a section of the bar in his honor before deciding it might be premature.

Meanwhile, economists praised the sheriff’s commitment to keeping tax dollars circulating within the local economy.

“Some public officials talk about supporting small businesses,” said one observer. “Others apparently create an entire economic stimulus package by themselves.”
