MILWAUKEE, Wi. – A Wisconsin courthouse turned into an unplanned game of hide-and-seek this week after a migrant mysteriously slipped out during a scheduled hearing — allegedly with a wink and a nudge from the presiding judge.
Security staff described the situation as “tense, but mostly awkward,” as ICE agents roamed the halls holding a manila folder and shouting the migrant’s name into random courtrooms. The judge reportedly recommended they “check the snack bar” before quietly returning to her chambers.
Eyewitnesses said the migrant exited through a side door typically reserved for “VIP mistakes,” walking casually past two security guards engrossed in a heated debate about whether Hot Pockets count as a full meal.
Federal officials are now reviewing courthouse protocols, including whether future migrants should be required to wear those child safety harnesses shaped like little monkeys.
The courthouse has since installed a helpful new sign at the front entrance: “All Migrants Must Stay Seated Until The Ride Comes to a Complete Stop.”
