BATON ROUGE, LA – In a first-of-its-kind recognition, Airbnb has awarded the 19th Judicial District Court its prestigious “Most Short-Term Stays” honor, citing their record-breaking ability to check offenders in and out of the EBR Parish Prison faster than any other facility in the nation.
According to Airbnb’s report, the partnership between the 19th JDC and their guests at the EBR Parish Prison “redefines the boundaries between justice and hospitality,” offering “a flexible, judgment-free stay experience with same-day checkout and zero accountability fees.”
Judges accepted the award during a brief 30-minute ceremony, which was immediately followed by the release of all attendees on their own recognizance.
“Justice today is about mobility and convenience,” said one judge. “If an offender wants to see family, run errands, or commit another felony, who are we to stand in the way of that freedom?”
Airbnb praised the program’s success in creating “a seamless guest experience” through the use of digital check-ins, optional sentencing upgrades, and free returns for repeat offenders.
A spokesperson for the company added, “We’re proud to support the 19th JDC’s commitment to shorter stays and longer rap sheets. It’s all about giving guests freedom, sometimes twice in one day.”
